While it’s safe to say none of us planned on 2020 to turn out the way it has. We understand having to transition your wedding from a venue to a home residence has been challenging, and maybe even a little disheartening. We’re here to tell you that your event will be beautiful no matter where it’s hosted! Celebrating at home comes with its pros & cons - which is why we’re sharing three tips that’ll help you plan your at-home bash with ease!
Go Big or Go Home!
From a rentals standpoint, going ‘small’ can yield big rewards! Rather than having to fill up a large space with decor, you now only have to plan for a backyard or a dining room - this means you can go big (or go home) with the rentals you choose! Opt for the specialty chair, the extra-shiny charger plate, and the ever-so-popular farm table. You can also add on a donut wall, ceremony arch, and more to bring your home to life!
Home vs. Venue
Celebrating at home has its benefits! The sense of familiarity and sentiment will no doubt be felt by all of your guests. While your home boasts many advantages, here are a few things you need to think about that might come already equipped with a venue:
Parking - if you have grumpy neighbors, it might be courteous of you to notify your community of your upcoming celebration and the possible influx of cars. We love the idea of notifying guests ahead of time where they can and cannot park - this gesture can help alleviate some “guest stress” and in thise case, “neighbor stress.”
Lighting - Not everyone’s backyard is ready-to-go with a full marketing lighting set-up, uplights, etc. These lighting solutions are crucial for setting the mood, and for obviously, lighting up the party space! We can work with the square-footage you have and design a lighting pattern that maximizes the space and looks aesthetically pleasing for the many selfies taken during the event!
Power - keep in mind the power needs of your event! We’ll let you know the amp required for our products (if any) so that you can plan accordingly. If you’re hosting a large party, it might be best to rent a generator.
Restrooms - most homes aren’t equipped with enough bathrooms to accommodate a reasonably-sized party. Luckily, we have luxe solutions for this problem! Our restroom trailers provide an at-home experience for your guests: a/c, music, calm interiors, private rooms, and the perfect lighting for touch-ups throughout the night.
Have a “Plan B”
It’s our job to think in “plan b” scenarios, especially when living in Florida. Our weather here in the sunshine state can be unpredictable at times, and scorching the next. To protect your event from the rain and summer rays, we highly recommend renting a tent. The size of your tent can vary based on your backyard space, your guest count, and what you’re looking to place under the tent. At the very least, plan to put your guests’ seating underneath the tent so that while they eat, they can soak up some shade. We know a tent is an investment, but it’s also an investment in your peace of mind - knowing that it won’t rain on your parade!
